Clinic Registered Nurse (RN)
Texas Oncology is looking for a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Mid Cities, TX location. The position is full-time, Monday‑Friday 8:30 am‑5:00 pm with no weekends, calls or major holidays. The RN will travel weekly to float to Kelly, Bedford, and Grapevine.
What does the Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) do?Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care for patients, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. The RN recognizes physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care and participates in company‑wide quality initiatives. The RN supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess patient health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
- Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
- Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.
- Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
- As necessary, facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
- Assist patients in locating available community resources.
- Collaborate with inter‑professional team.
- Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
- Graduate from an accredited professional nursing education program (BSN preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Willingness to consider an entry, mid, or senior level candidate.
- Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Physical RequirementsRequires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lb. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
