Head of Packaging

For a solid European Pharmaceutical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), part of an established international manufacturing group with a long‑standing industrial heritage and operating in Italy with a manufacturing site located in the Lombardy region, we are looking for an experienced professional to fill the position of:

Reporting directly to the Plant Director, the role will be responsible for managing and coordinating all activities and resources within the Packaging Department of a solid oral dosage manufacturing site, ensuring the timely execution of production plans in compliance with company quality standards and GMP requirements.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure the execution of packaging plans and the achievement of production targets through systematic and timely updates in case of changes;
• Optimize production schedules through continuous collaboration with the relevant functions;
• Define and clearly communicate production, maintenance, and operational priorities within the Packaging Department, in close collaboration with Planning and Maintenance functions, and schedule specific interventions on related equipment;
• Plan and coordinate the activities of shift supervisors and of the personnel responsible for the documentation and administrative activities within the Packaging Department;
• Ensure effective onboarding and training of new staff, as well as continuous training of packaging operators on equipment, manufacturing processes, GMP requirements and new procedures;
• Ensure the timely preparation and/or revision of quality procedures related to the Packaging Department;
• Ensure that the performance of Packaging Department personnel meets required standards and, in collaboration with the relevant functions, implement improvement actions where needed;
• Promote a positive and motivating work environment, supporting continuous learning and professional development of team members.

• University Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology (CTF), Chemistry or related disciplines;
• Proven experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with a strong background in pharmaceutical packaging departments and at least 2 years in a leadership role;
• Strong knowledge of GMP, AIFA, EMA and other relevant regulatory guidelines;
• Strong leadership and communication skills, high level of hands‑on problem‑solving ability;

Lombardy Region. The position is regularly based on Site.
