Job ResponsibilitiesCompensation Range: $75,000 to $85,000
Key Responsibilites
- Responsible for leading the effective, efficient and comprehensive implementation of Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), developing a Safe and Healthful workplace for all Autosystems workers, contractors and visitors. Some of the duties include:
- Ensure the OHSMS & EMS requirements are administered and maintained in accordance with ISO
45001, ISO
14001, applicable legislation, and Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental requirements. - Accountable to Conduct and/or participate with all audits and inspections, including pre-audit management and data upload.
- Provide instruction and training on health and safety required learning including onboarding/orientation of new employees.
- Drive Zero Harm suggestion program ensuring yearly and quarterly goals are met, actions are submitted/closed and overall program KPIs are achieved.
- Lead Occupational Injury Management including communicating with WSIB and managing Early and Safe Return to Work.
- Conduct hazard assessments / audits within the plant(s) on equipment, machinery and tasks.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- An understanding of the OHSA, Regulations and WSIA.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize many different tasks.

- Work mainly performed at a computer workstation.
- Manage action plans, support monthly environmental, sustainability and energy data submissions in internal tracking system (HSELinx).
- Manage overall chemical inventory and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), ensuring accurate maintenance and compliance with WHMIS training and applicable legislation.
- Manage Ergonomic actions and ensure program is supported including involvement in Ergonomics Committee.
- Lead incident investigations ensuring implementation of corrective actions and ensure data is tracked in internal tracking system (HSELinx)
- Create Safety Alerts to ensure workers are notified of hazards discovered due to safety incidents.
- Make recommendations to Management to ensure continued improvement of Workplace Health, Safety and Environmental programs.
- Lead Contractor Management ensuring documentation is captured from all applicable parties, as required.
- Create and implement health and safety policies, procedures and programs to reduce and eliminate injuries and illnesses.
- Drive activities of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC), including driving agenda and leading meetings.
