As:
Teacher of Students with Emotional/Behavioral Disorders
* Prepare and carry out daily lesson plans in accordance with each student's IEP and the Illinois Learning Standards.
* Take measures to provide for the safety, welfare, and security of each student.
* Prepare, manage, and implement behavior modification plans and create the necessary supporting documentation.
* Prepare the necessary paperwork for each student's IEP and attend and actively participate in IEP meetings.
* Collect data pertaining to the students' functioning and progress.
* Team with social workers and paraprofessionals to help meet the students' needs.
* Maintain accurate attendance and academic records.
* Maintain communication with parents, case workers, and probation officers as needed to better meet the students' needs.
* Supervise the paraprofessional(s) assigned to the applicable classroom.
* Collect data and organize information for the Illinois Alternate Assessment (IAA) when applicable.
* Perform daily bus duty (e.g. supervising the students to/from the building as they get on/off the school bus and intervening as necessary).
* Monitor student lunch time daily.
* Attend and participate in weekly team and staff meetings.
* Appropriately implement Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) principles as needed.
* Remain current and updated with regard to the applicable teacher certification issues.
* Engage in continuing education and professional development activities in order to stay informed about the most recent issues pertinent to the field.
* Participate in program-specific training as required by the supervising administrator.
* Abide by all applicable laws and comply with all BASSC policies and procedures (e.g. business department, attendance, computer/internet, schedule, internal paperwork, etc.).
* Maintain confidentiality at all times with regard to students and student information.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
As:
Teacher of Students with Developmental Disabilities
* Create a safe and educationally appropriate environment for instruction.
* Plan and implement a special education program that addresses the students' IEPs.
* Prepare the paperwork that is necessary for students' IEP meetings.
* Participate actively in the IEP meetings of the students served.
* Provide case management services for the students to ensure that the IEP-prescribed services are being met.
* Collect data pertaining to the students' functioning and progress.
* Maintain accurate attendance and academic records.
* Prepare and carry out daily lesson plans in accordance with each student's IEP and the Illinois Learning Standards.
* Design the overall curriculum for the applicable classroom.
* Supervise the paraprofessional(s) assigned to the applicable classroom.
* Attend and participate in meetings related to program-specific topics on an as needed basis.
* Communicate regularly with parents regarding the students' progress and needs.
* Attend meetings as needed with support staff, district representatives, administration, and colleagues.
* Complete all paperwork related to the management of the applicable classroom and equipment.
* Integrate all related services necessary to serve the students most effectively.
* Schedule each student's instructional day with regard to class time, related services, inclusion, community activities, etc.
* Collect data and organize information for the Illinois Alternate Assessment (IAA) when applicable.
* Assist in meeting the personal needs of each student (e.g. toileting, feeding, etc.).
* Provide medical assistance for the students, with consultation from the school nurse, as needed (e.g. monitoring seizures, tube feedings, medications, etc.).
* Remain current and updated with regard to the applicable teacher certification issues.
* Engage in continuing education and professional development activities in order to stay informed about the most recent issues pertinent to the field.
* Participate in program-specific training as required by the supervising administrator.
* Abide by all applicable laws and comply with all BASSC policies and procedures (e.g. business department, attendance, computer/internet, schedule, internal paperwork, etc.).

* Create a safe and educationally appropriate environment for instruction.
* Instruct students using methodologies that are research-based.
* Prepare and carry out daily lesson plans in accordance with each student's IEP and the Illinois Learning Standards.
* Remain current with regard to laws and guidelines pertaining to special education and active case management.
* Participate as a collaborative team member with regular education and related service staff members and integrate the necessary services to serve the students most effectively.
