Civil Design Engineer; mid level career

At DOWL, we are seeking a mid‑level Civil Design Engineer to lead site development projects with limited oversight. The role involves full design calculations, AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency, site visits, client communication, construction documents, cost estimates, and written reports. We value strong work ethic, organization, communication, and mentorship.

• Perform full design calculations and produce design documents (site layout, grading, utility plans, street plans, traffic control, erosion control, etc.).
• Prepare construction plans, cost estimates, permits, and specifications; review RFIs, submittals, and construction details.
• Conduct site visits and coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
• Apply design codes (Local jurisdiction, DOT, PROWAG, ASTM, AWWA, MUTCD, DEQ).
• Maintain project budgets and schedules; predict and deliver tasks within set effort.
• Provide technical leadership on small projects and quality control of deliverables.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams; anticipate needs of other disciplines.
• Participate in construction observation, inspection, and record drawings.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project) – Proficient.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydro
  
  CAD, Auto Turn – Developing.

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Four (4) years of experience in civil design engineering.
• Three (3) years with an advanced degree (optional).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for business purposes.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Intermediate technical expertise; capable of independent design tasks and leading small projects.

Salary range: $90,895.77 – $.
