The Fire Sprinkler Install Apprentice will learn and develop the skills necessary to install, test, repair, and maintain fire sprinkler systems. The apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced Fire Sprinkler Installation Technicians. The Fire Sprinkler Install Apprentice will assist the Fire Sprinkler Install Technicians in the accurate and efficient installation of fire sprinkler systems, following blueprints and specifications. They will need to progress steadily through all aspects of the apprenticeship training program.
Responsibilities- Learn and apply proper techniques to cut, thread, and fit pipes, ensuring precise alignment and secure connections for the fire sprinkler system.
- Acquire knowledge of fire sprinkler system components, codes, regulations, and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including installation details, repairs, inspections, and tests, to ensure compliance with regulations and facilitate future maintenance.
- Work closely with the installation team to ensure timely completion of projects, providing support and assistance as required.
- Demonstrate a professional and customer-focused approach when interacting with Foremen, Superintendents, Project Managers, Coworkers, Subcontractors, and Customers
- Address customer concerns and provide assistance as required.
- Minimum of 1 year of Fire Sprinkler or Construction experience is required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in working with hand and power tools.
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills in the field of fire sprinkler system installation.
- Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to walk and maneuver around construction job sites and climb ladders occasionally.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy pipe daily (10-40 lbs frequently and 50-75 lbs occasionally).
- Bending and squatting frequently and for long periods of time.
- Reaching and performing work above shoulder level frequently and for long periods of time.
- Ability to withstand occasional exposure to hot, cold, and/or inclement weather on job sites.
- Ability to wear PPE such as steel toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses, safety harnesses, and hard hats occasionally on job sites.
