Project Technician – Field Services (Berkley, MI)
Pinchin is seeking a Project Technician to join our LUST (Field Services) team in Berkley, MI. The role reports to the Senior Project Associate.
OverviewThe Field Services department assesses, protects, and improves environments where clients live and work. The team conducts soil, water, vapor, and other media sampling; oversees soil borings and monitoring well installations; and provides on‑site oversight during tank removals, excavations, and demolitions. They also support remediation system installations, surveying, and mapping activities, collaborating closely with other groups.
Responsibilities- Perform field tasks, including sampling soil, water, vapor, and other media.
- Oversee soil boring advancement and the installation of monitoring wells.
- Provide oversight for the removal of leaking underground storage tanks, excavations, and demolitions.
- Assist with remediation system installations and maintenance.
- Conduct surveying and mapping activities.
- Provide field support to other teams, including the Site Investigation Services (SIS) team.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field preferred.
- 0–3 years of consulting or relevant field experience.
- Comfortable operating trucks and trailers.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to build positive relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to read technical specifications, drawings, and reports.
- Valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to travel to job sites; work‑related travel is compensated.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all climates and weather conditions.
- Availability to work outside core business hours; overtime is required.
- Physical ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift or move up to 50 pounds; vision requirements and physical pass necessary.
