Fisher Associates is seeking a Highway Project Engineer (PE) to help shape safe, reliable transportation infrastructure through the planning, design, and delivery of roadway projects. What You’ll Do As a Highway Project Engineer- Lead the development of preliminary and final highway design plans and cost analyses for new and existing infrastructure projects, delivering solutions that meet client goals and performance expectations.
- Perform highway and drainage design tasks, including roadway alignments, profiles, and related project responsibilities.
- Maintain detailed records of design documents, reports, schedules and budgets.
- Ensure designs adhere to state and local standards, regulations and safety codes.
- Review plans and technical deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and constructability.
- Participate in project planning meetings and align tasks to meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Support project managers with schedules, documentation, and presentations.
- Provide technical support during construction, respond to RFIs and attend site visits.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with clients, subconsultants and regulatory approving agencies.
- Mentor junior staff and support their technical development.
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 10+ years of transportation experience with a strong background in highway design.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) or ability to obtain it.
- Proficiency in Micro Station and Open Roads.
- Familiarity with state DOT design standards (NYSDOT or PennDOT preferred)
