This is a fantastic opportunity for a Tax Senior to join a respected and expanding accountancy practice in Birkenhead. You’ll be responsible for managing a varied client portfolio, delivering high‑quality compliance work, and supporting tax planning and advisory projects.

As Tax Senior
, you’ll play a key role in providing a proactive and professional tax service to a wide range of clients, including individuals, partnerships, and owner‑managed businesses. You’ll work closely with managers and partners, contributing to both compliance and advisory assignments.

• Preparing and reviewing personal and corporation tax returns
• Managing tax compliance processes for your client portfolio, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines
• Providing support on a range of advisory assignments including restructuring, R&D tax claims, and capital allowance work
• Assisting with tax planning and providing advice to clients on tax efficiency
• Liaising directly with clients, handling queries and building long‑term relationships
• Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and providing feedback and training
• Supporting the wider team with ad hoc projects and client assignments
• Staying up to date with UK tax legislation and contributing to technical discussions within the team

You’ll be a driven and detail‑oriented tax professional who enjoys variety and client interaction.

• Be ATT qualified (or studying towards CTA) with several years’ experience in practice
• Have experience managing a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients
• Possess strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Be confident working directly with clients and providing practical tax advice
• Be organised, methodical, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Take pride in your work and enjoy contributing to a collaborative team environment

Experience in tax advisory or exposure to projects such as R&D, share schemes, or group restructuring would be beneficial.
