A welcoming primary school in Aston is looking for a confident and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team. This varied role offers the opportunity to support pupils across Key Stage 1, deliver targeted interventions, and occasionally lead PPA cover sessions within the school.

This position would be particularly well suited to an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to gain valuable classroom experience, develop their teaching practice, and strengthen their curriculum knowledge within a supportive school environment.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 classrooms
  • Delivering small-group interventions in phonics, literacy and numeracy
  • Providing tailored 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
  • Adapting learning activities to meet a range of abilities and learning styles
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and emotional wellbeing
  • Working closely with class teachers and the SEND team to support pupil progress
  • Occasionally covering PPA sessions, delivering pre‑planned lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment
What We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience working within a KS1 setting
  • Knowledge of phonics and early learning strategies
  • Willingness to cover PPA time (occasional each week)
  • Experience supporting children with SEN and additional learning needs
  • A calm, patient and enthusiastic approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
