Risk Officer, Judgemental Lending; SME

Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Risk Officer, Judgemental Lending (SME), within the Wholesale Credit Risk team.

• Provide timely, concise, and well-reasoned decisions and recommendations on lending applications for CMB.
• Make independent judgemental decisions for customers across CMB segments.
• Know, interpret, and apply internal guidelines, credit appetite, and policies to make reasoned judgemental lending decisions.
• Communicate decisions to a diverse audience, persuading and influencing stakeholders.
• Take a portfolio‑led view of risk, analysing customer trends and providing clear insights and judgement on non‑financial risks that could influence lending decisions.

• Prior lending experience, preferably in judgemental lending with understanding of guidelines and policies.
• Experience liaising with stakeholders on matters related to credit risk lending.
• Strong written and communication skills, as the role requires written approvals and will be queried on findings and decisions.
• Understanding of Commercial Banking, its operations and products.
• Ability to review large datasets and confidently analyze data to make sound judgemental lending decisions for clients.
