The role involves tax planning, client interaction, and completing special tax projects within a collaborative tax team and a paperless office environment.
Responsibilities- Prepares individual, business, and other types of tax returns for clients in various types of entities and industries.
- Works with the tax team to ensure the components of the tax process are performed, including tax planning, client interaction, and performing special tax projects.
- Gathers relevant tax-related information from the client so an accurate tax return can be prepared.
- Examines tax situations from various angles to ensure the maximum tax benefit is applied.
- Prepares accounting-related reports through a paperless office environment.
- Attends training seminars, professional development, and networking events.
Location: Bismarck, ND
Work Arrangement: In-office
Who You Are / Qualifications- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- You have an active CPA license or are working toward obtaining CPA license;
Enrolled Agent (EA) certification also accepted. - You have 1-3 years of tax experience within public accounting.
- You can clearly explain details of your tax experience and/or explain the difference between a 1040 and a 1120.
- You have knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations.
- You actively stay up-to-date on the changing tax industry regulations and policies.
- You are a self-starter who enjoys working independently and in a team environment.
- You can focus on complex tasks and quickly understand the firm’s comprehensive compliance processes.
Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.
