Position Details
- Responsible for all job related paperwork
- The ability to work long days (12 hours).
- Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers
- Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, cement or glue
- Cover pipes with earth or other materials
- Cut pipes to required lengths
- Dig trenches to desired or required depths by hand or using trenching tools
- Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools
- Install and repair sanitary and storm water sewer structures and pipe systems
- Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors
- Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices
- Any other miscellaneous task/duties as assigned
- Valid driver's license
- Water Sewer Apprentice license preferred, however not required
- OSHA underground and excavation training preferred, however not required
- Willingness to understand and accept safety standards
- Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions
- Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change
- Ability to work with a variety of personalities
- Willingness to work hard and be reliable
- Must maintain flexibility in the schedule during the busy season
