Data Analyst, Data Scientist
The Specialist, Measurement will use their knowledge of data management, statistical programming, quality assurance procedures, and statistical reporting to support the development of licensure and certification exams and ensure quality of data files and technical reports.
Scope and Impact of JobWork closely with the Measurement and Research staff to automate and streamline data cleaning and preparation, statistical and psychometric analysis, and the production of technical reports. The role also serves as the technical liaison between Measurement and Research staff and the software developers responsible for Pearson’s Business Intelligence.
Required Knowledge and ExperienceEducation and Experience
- Master’s degree in statistics or related quantitative field.
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics or related quantitative field and 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Two or more years of experience using Python, R, and/or related tools for data management and statistical analysis, preferably in educational or professional testing.
- Strong MS Office skills.
- Familiarity with the principles of test construction, classical and IRT-based item analysis, and item calibration, linking, and equating preferred.
- Experience working with large datasets and a variety of data structures (relational database).
- Ability to summarize complex technical information and communicate it to a variety of audiences.
- Excellent organizational skills: ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective decision-making skills.
- Write and execute computer programs to extract, clean and prepare data for analysis by psychometricians
- Manage and manipulate data files from multiple sources (data warehouse, Microsoft Access, MS Excel, text)
- Ensure quality of data files
- Provide guidance and oversight in developing standardized data management and verification protocol
- Collaborate with psychometricians to develop standardized processes for the verification and validation of statistical and psychometric analysis
- Document programming, data management, and quality assurance processes and procedures
- Conduct data processing and analysis to support statistical or psychometric projects
- Serve as Psychometric Services representative to the Software Development teams for data reporting tools functionality, enhancements, and bug fixes

The minimum full-time salary range is between $60,000 - $70,000. This position is not bonus eligible, and information on benefits offered is here.
