IT Support, Systems Administrator
Position Overview
Idaho Power Company (IPC) is looking for a System Administrator or Senior System Administrator to join our Load Serving Operations Technology team at our West Boise office. This role supports high-visibility projects, compliance activities, and real‑time operation technologies such as the Outage Management System (OMS), Switch Order Management (SOM), and Energy Management System (EMS).
Responsibilities- Own the reliability, availability, and performance of OMS, SOM, model maintenance, and EMS applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system, integration, and data issues using structured root‑cause analysis.
- Monitor system health, analyze operational data, logs, and alerts to diagnose issues and drive improvements.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across integrated platforms.
- Design, build, and maintain system integrations, including API‑based and stand‑alone solutions.
- Leverage automation, scripting, and programming to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Support CIP compliance through change and configuration management, asset management, patching, and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with internal teams, end users, and vendors, maintaining documentation and operating independently to implement fixes, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience:
2 or more years of relevant technology administration experience. - Licenses &
Certifications:
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred certifications: ITIL Foundation, Microsoft MCSA, Red Hat RHCSA.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or computer information systems (CIS). - Experience:
4 or more years of relevant technology administration experience. - Licenses &
Certifications:
ITIL Foundation, Microsoft MCSE, Red Hat RHCE, Microsoft Azure Administrator, CISSP, CCNP.
- On-site (non‑remote) position.
- Participate in a 24x7 on‑call rotation and be able to arrive on site within 60 minutes.
- Work at a desk/computer for extended periods.
- Use office equipment, fine motor skills for typing and dialing.
- Occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs.
