- Facility Oversight:
Proactively monitor and manage the movement of staff, inmates, and visitors throughout the facility, ensuring a secure environment. Identify and report safety hazards, security threats, and disturbances, maintaining safety and order. - Security Console Mastery:
Operate advanced audio‑visual security systems, including door controls, lights, alarms, and fire systems. Take charge of the CCTV system, enhancing surveillance and security measures across the facility. - Communication Expertise:
Use telephone and radio equipment to efficiently manage calls, ensuring clear and seamless communication within the facility. - Emergency Incident Command:
Lead during emergencies as the Incident Command Center, coordinating with jail staff and emergency responders for swift action. - Data Management:
Keep accurate logs of radio assignments, key activities, maintenance requests, and other essential data, ensuring smooth operations. - Technical Troubleshooting:
Identify and report technical issues with radios, alarms, or equipment, resolving problems and maintaining operational integrity. - Tech‑Savvy Operator:
Operate and maintain computers, office equipment, and devices, demonstrating technology proficiency. Perform basic preventive maintenance to ensure proper functioning. - Flexible Team Player:
Take on additional duties as needed, contributing to the success and smooth operation of the security team. - Schedule Flexibility:
Work all shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, on assignment or on‑call.
The computer‑based exam consists of multiple sections that must all be passed. Skills tested include cross‑referencing, prioritization, call summarization, and data entry.
