Salary Grade Grade 47 ($62,525.00-$81,500.00)
Responsibilities- Overseeing daily operations, safety, and technical functionality of EPIC.
- Conducting seminars, workshops and programs for students on various aspects of hardware prototyping.
- Meeting one-on-one with students, faculty, or staff for design and manufacturing reviews.
- Assisting in the maintenance of equipment and ensuring a safe learning environment.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in a fabrication lab, machine shop, makerspace, or similar environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of shop safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with a digital workflow (CAD / CAM / CNC).
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or related technical field.
- Experience managing academic lab or makerspace operations.
- Experience developing training programs or instructional materials.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies in product development and innovation.
Physical Requirements
- Regular work in a fabrication lab environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
- Frequent interaction with students, faculty, and staff across the College of Engineering and the broader university.
- Occasional interaction with vendors, external partners, and industry collaborators.
