Position: Senior Plumbing Estimator / Project Manager

Senior Plumbing Estimator / Project Manager Industrial Mechanical & Process Piping Projects

Greater Boston Area | Full-Time

A long-established and highly respected industrial mechanical contractor in the Greater Boston market is seeking an experienced 'Plumbing Estimator / Project Manager' to join their growing team.

This company has built a strong reputation over decades specializing in complex industrial and municipal mechanical projects including:

  • Wastewater treatment facilities
  • Water treatment plants
  • Process piping systems
  • Fire protection systems
  • Public infrastructure & transportation facilities

This is not high-volume residential or apartment-style plumbing work. The projects are technical, diverse, and highly specialized — offering the opportunity to work on challenging and meaningful infrastructure projects throughout the region.

What You’ll Do

This is a hybrid role ideal for someone who can both estimate and help manage awarded work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plumbing and mechanical estimating
  • Quantity takeoffs and bid preparation
  • Project buyouts and procurement coordination
  • Scheduling and material tracking
  • Managing awarded projects through completion
  • Coordinating with field teams, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Supporting public-sector and prevailing wage projects
What We’re Looking For Required Experience
  • 5–7+ years of plumbing/mechanical estimating experience
  • Background in industrial plumbing, process piping, or mechanical construction
  • Strong understanding of construction operations beyond just estimating
  • Experience managing projects after award is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with public-sector or prevailing wage projects
Software Experience

Experience with some or all of the following is preferred:

  • Trimble estimating platforms
  • Blue Beam
  • Revit
  • Construction coordination software
Ideal Background
  • Former plumber or hands-on field experience strongly preferred
  • Plumbing license is a plus, but not required
  • Local New England market knowledge is highly valued
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • Profit sharing program
  • 90% employer‑paid health insurance
  • PTO negotiable based on experience
  • Stable daytime schedule
  • Limited hybrid flexibility available
Why This Opportunity?
  • A longstanding company backed by decades of industry experience
  • Interesting, technical projects — no repetitive 'cookie‑cutter' work
  • Tight‑knit team environment
  • Direct access to leadership and decision makers
  • Long‑term career opportunity with a respected contractor

If you’re an experienced estimator who understands both the office and field side of mechanical construction, this could be an excellent long‑term fit.
