Position: Supply Planner (Open to Remote)
Supply Planners are key people with the Bobs Discount Furniture organization who play a vital role by assuring that we have strong communication between Merchandising, Logistics, Vendors, Trucking companies and our Distribution Centers.
Function in a manner that is consistent with the Bobs Discount Furniture way of doing business. It is of paramount importance that the Supply planner upholds the principles of honesty, integrity and fairness when interacting with employees, suppliers and customers.
Send out weekly communication to ensure our Domestic vendors are scheduling on time or communicating any delays in delivery.
Send out weekly communication to ensure our Import vendors submitting booking requests with Cargo ready dates on time to meet our shipping window.
Work with the DC partners to ensure the goods that have been delivered to the DCs are being unloaded in a timely manner and adjust purchase order dates to eliminate the failure of scheduled customer deliveries.
Adhere to established parameters of the business and work with distribution center management to ensure we are not pushing the DCs above their daily unloading capacity while ensuring the integrity of customer deliveries.
Foster strong relationships between the Supply Planning Department and the other departments within Bobs Discount Furniture (timely responsiveness, etc.).
Develop and maintain positive relationships with the vendor community.
Seek help when necessary regarding problems, personnel issues and for personal job development. Communicate issues as necessary.
Work closely with the Replenishment Planners to ensure proper purchase order dating is maintained at all times and communicate problems, trends, concerns, etc.
Required to work 40 hours per week.
Solid knowledge of furniture and accessories
Full understanding and competence on SAP and other applicable tools
Full understanding and competence on Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access and Word
Good interpersonal and human relations skills
Proven analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to use sound judgment and decision making
Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
Excellent mathematical reasoning -- The ability to understand and analyze sales numbers
Ability to express thoughts using grammatically correct sentence structure in either verbal or written forms
Good reading comprehension skills -- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
Good coordination skills -- Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions
Good problem identification skills -- Identifying the nature of problems
Good time management skills -- Managing one's own time and the time of others
Ability to use critical thinking -- Using logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches
Good identification of key causes -- Identifying the causal factors that must be changed to achieve a goal
Associates or Bachelors degree
Retail or analytical training or experience
