About Boulder City Hospital:
Boulder City Hospital is an 82-bed facility including a 47-bed long-term care center and a 10-bed Geriatric Behavioral Medicine Center. We are committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care in a friendly small-town atmosphere.
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Long Term Care delivers comprehensive patient care services as directed by supervising RNs and physicians. This role includes measuring, evaluating, administering, and documenting patient care, contributing to individualized care plans, and collaborating closely with Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) by assigning tasks based on their skills. The LPN advocates for patients' rights and privacy and actively responds to the needs of patients, physicians, and families.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and nursing protocols
- Provide direct patient care including bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting in examinations and treatments
- Assess patient conditions and report findings to the Registered Nurse or physician
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and update patient care plans
- Supervise and delegate duties to CNAs according to their competency levels
- Uphold patient confidentiality and advocate for patient rights and dignity
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and patient responses
- Physically capable of lifting, walking, carrying, and standing as required
- Graduation from an accredited Practical Nurse Program
- Current Nevada State Board of Nursing licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- IV Certification to be obtained within one year of employment
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to work effectively and compassionately with elderly patients, their families, and healthcare staff
