Job Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and oversight to two remote bookkeepers to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure timely delivery of monthly financials and completion of client projects.
- Serve as a resource for accounting theory and respond to client-facing questions.
- Collaborate with internal tax and quality control teams to support compliance and accuracy.
- Participate in virtual team meetings and occasional in-person sessions to maintain team alignment.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in small business services.
- Communicate effectively and mentor team members with professionalism and clarity.
- Respond proactively to problems and manage client communications, including IRS interactions.
- Work independently while staying connected to a distributed and remote-first team.
- Maintain accountability across deliverables and advocate for team needs.
- Be on track for CPA or EA certification, which is required for IRS communication.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple priorities.
- Show a service-oriented mindset and ability to work in a hybrid or remote-first environment.
- Demonstrate a mature, polished, and professional demeanor in client interactions.
- Possess a solid understanding of accounting principles and small business operations.
