Role Summary

Madden’s is currently seeking a full time Sales Manager who will solicit group business in the corporate and social market, enabling the facility to meet and/or exceed group revenue goals in room, food and beverage, and golf.

Responsibilities
  • Telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, sales presentations, property tours, customer meetings, travel to key markets, and written correspondence.
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Develop sales leads through innovative strategies.
  • Prepare written and verbal correspondence to customers, internal booking reports, and ensure proper maintenance of sales files.
  • Prepare reports such as annual individual sales plans and client mapping.
  • Assist in developing rates through review of competitive data, demand analysis, and mix management.
  • Participate in and may conduct meetings such as staff meetings, daily business review and pre‑convention and post‑convention meetings.
  • Work with other departments within the resort to provide quality service to customers.
  • Attend trade shows, community events, and industry meetings.
  • Draft proposals for group and social sales.
  • Cultivate corporate relationships by setting and conducting outside meetings.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
  • Organized, great communication, calm under pressure, decisive & flexible.
  • Excellent listening, speaking, and writing.
  • Must be able to work alongside other people and independently.
  • The ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients is essential.
  • Adept at not only solving problems but maintaining composure when doing so.
  • Time management.
Education/Experience

Associate degree (AA); three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (Hotel Management, Marketing preferred).

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Work is performed in multiple outlets and facilities.

Physical Demands

Primarily stationary such as sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to stand, walk, talk/hear, both in person and by telephone, occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pound boxes and items sometimes repeatedly.

Expected Hours of Work

8:00am – 4:30pm Monday through Friday with occasional nights and weekends.

Travel

Less than 10% travel required.
