Route Sales Specialist
This position will require traveling to cover routes in our Bemidji and Baudette, MN Sales Centers as needed.
The responsibility of the Route Sales Specialist is to follow procedures and good business practices that will enable routes to grow to potential, deliver fresh product to existing customers, set up new accounts and merchandize. The RSS will work closely with customers and support all sales initiatives to achieve expectations and be responsible for customer development with regard to ordering, merchandising, and display opportunities.

- Provide vacation relief for Route Sales Professionals and Loaders
- Assist the Sales Leadership Team in day-to-day operations and/or issues as needed
- Help train new Route Sales Professionals
- Deliver fresh product to existing customers on open routes until new RSPs are trained
- Assist with rack resets
- Partner with Route Sales Professionals to align account chains
- Participate in route operation activities, including ordering and distribution, merchandising, promotional activity, holiday planning, and meeting customer expectations
- Communicate with customers to explain promotional activity and delivery expectations
- Ensure product distribution meets contract terms and customer satisfaction
- Assist customer relations, including selling new products and securing space/position gains
- Provide high-level customer service and resolve issues as they arise
- Work location will vary depending on staffing needs
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain and retain a DOT medical card
- Success in obtaining a Chauffeur License if the job location is in IN, MI, or TN
- Physical ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, kneel for extended periods, and perform frequent reaching and use of fingers
- 1-3 years of related experience in DSD (Direct Sales Distribution) is preferred
- Ability to read and speak English sufficient to converse with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports and records in compliance with U.S. Department of Transportation regulations
- Understanding of the physical and mental demands necessary to perform essential job functions
