We are searching, on behalf of our client, a custom equipment production facility located in the west end of the GTA, for an experienced Welder Fitter for rotating equipment. The welder fitter will be someone who has custom machine shop welding experience, enjoys working with their hands, self-motivated, attentive to detail and takes pride in doing a good job.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Read and interpret documents such as Assembly drawings, Work Order instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Completes fit-up, welding, grinding and deburring operations.
- Uses appropriate inspection gauges.
- Reports any malfunctions or equipment problems to management.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally required to stand, bend, kneel, twist, push, and pull.
- Required to walk frequently.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds routinely.
- The Job requires flexibility and may be involved in many non-job-related functions to support production.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and safety procedures.
- Maintains clean, orderly, and safe work areas at all times.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Physical:
- Sitting, Standing, and Walking.
- Carrying, Stooping, Lifting and Reaching.
- Lifting Requirements:
Up to 40 pounds.
- Mental
- Math.
- The use of the English language, both Oral and Written.
- Requires daily communication with multiple departments to insure maximum efficiency.
- OSSD High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical School Diploma, Trade Certificate or Equivalent Certificate of Qualifications
- CWB Welding certificate is a must.
- FCAW for carbon steel
- FCAW for stainless steel
- SMAW for carbon steel
- SMAW for stainless steel
- Technical Standards and Safety Authority
- GTAW for stainless steel
- TSSA
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a related manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Proficient knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills are required.
- Self-starter who takes initiative and maintains excellent follow-through and follow-up.
- Exceptional communication and technical skills
- Performs well in a fast-paced environment and can multitask with ease.
- Superior organizational skill and impeccable attention to detail.
- CWB W47.1 Carbon and Stainless is a must.
- TSSA Certified Carbon and Stainless is a plus.
- Understanding of metrology
- Knowledge of both manual and electrical tools Advanced Math, including geometry and trigonometry.
- Proficient in English language, both Oral and Written.
- Capable of communicating clearly and concisely to all personnel.
- Requires daily communication with multiple departments to insure maximum efficiency.
- Hours of operation: 6:00am to 2:30pm or 2:30pm to 11:00pm
