By joining our team, you’ll harness your expertise as an innovator and technical leader to develop strategies to solve our clients’ challenging energy needs. The Associate Electrical Engineer will manage electrical design teams to create world‑class designs for new utility installations, plant upgrades, and redevelopments across a variety of project types, including distributed generation and microgrid projects for corporate, healthcare, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military campuses and facilities.
Responsibilities- Manage electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion, ensuring project needs and requirements set by project managers are met.
- Apply expert knowledge of commonly used electrical concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry.
- Use expert knowledge and experience on complex projects to find non‑standard design solutions.
- Perform quality review of production drawings and related project data across multiple CAD‑related software to verify corrections.
- Review construction administration, coordinate with field personnel to resolve design‑related installation issues, and conduct field inspections and testing of electrical systems.
- Manage field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
- Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
- Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers, and contractors; develop new business opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction goals are met.
- Lead sales and marketing efforts and identify key pursuits.
- Develop cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance.
- Review and approve project budgets and cost estimates; report project performance.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the electrical engineering practice.
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC processes and drive process improvement.
- Enforce compliance with company and site safety policies.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related ABET‑accredited program and 13 years of electrical engineering experience (EPC project experience preferred).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET‑accredited program, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 13 years of electrical engineering experience (EPC project experience preferred).
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 12 years of electrical engineering experience (EPC project experience preferred).
- Expert knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures; strong knowledge of electrical equipment design ANSI and IEEE standards.
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading discipline design for large projects, delegating work tasks, and managing execution of work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills; ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem‑solving environment.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
- Capability to travel.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
$–$ per year, based on location, education, and experience. The total annual compensation package includes a base salary and eligibility to participate in a discretionary year‑end incentive bonus program.
