Duties
* Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of Faculty Development instructors ensuring that initial skills/supplemental/advanced training complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
* Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
* Instructs students through assigned blocks of instruction at basic or advanced levels.
* Researches, develops, revises and recommends updates to Faculty Development course materials in accordance with established learning objectives.
* Represents the Faculty Development Flight with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
* Position encompasses both resident and mobile training worldwide.
* May be required to work on special projects as directed by the supervisor.

* The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the SPECIALIZED experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1712, Training Instructor series.
FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF THE AIR FORCE GS-1712 POSITIONS:
Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study. To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools;
Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an Associate's Degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria.
NOTE:

EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes practical knowledge of a wide range of the principles and practical methods, techniques, and tools of instruction to teach a variety of students with a range of differences such as diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest.
Knowledge of instructional design, materials development for assigned courses and knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives. Knowledge of computer technology in relation to training programs for faculty, instructional methodology, technology insertion methods, equipment and techniques, communicative processes, developmental approaches, group dynamics, presentation delivery, human behavior and counseling techniques.
