Job Overview
Seeking experienced Telemetry RNs for a 13-week night shift float pool assignment in an acute care Level II trauma facility.
This role supports multiple Med Surg/Telemetry units and requires strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills. Travelers must be flexible, adaptable, and comfortable floating as needed.
Responsibilities- Provide care for Med Surg/Telemetry patients with ratios primarily 1:5–6
- Interpret and respond to cardiac telemetry rhythms
- Care for patients with diagnoses including:
- CHF
- Post-cardiac cath
- Chest pain
- Pneumonia
- Chronic renal disease
- COPD
- Orthopedic conditions
- Oncology (chemo administered by perm staff)
- Float to assigned units including:
- 6N (36 beds)
- 7N (29 beds)
- 4N, 5S, 6S (36 beds each)
- Critical Care (20 beds, basic telemetry only)
- Report to clinical coordinator prior to shift for assignment
- Read and interpret telemetry strips (monitor techs available but RN interpretation required)
- Document in EPIC
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Active RN license
- BLS
- ACLS
- Must pass cardiac rhythm exam
- Strong telemetry interpretation skills
- Must reside 50+ miles from facility
- Copy of unexpired driver’s license required at submission
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 hours guaranteed weekly
- Every other weekend required (Saturday/Sunday)
- Holiday rotation required
- Float pool position – first to float
- No titratable drips required
- CPAP & BiPAP managed by RT
- Royal Blue scrubs required
- 1–2 shifts orientation with preceptor
- Cancellation: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
All travelers must pass a cardiac rhythm exam. 50-mile radius rule applies (no locals). Driver’s license copy required at pool position – strong flexibility required. Must be comfortable reading and interpreting telemetry strips independently.
