At our Filton site in Bristol, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft.

We are seeking a new Semi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our friendly team who work effectively and efficiently across our Filton site on process, plant and CNC machines.

As well as identifying/rectifying compressed air leaks throughout the factory, you will assist with our planned maintenance schedule and response to breakdowns.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 35 hours per week (07:00am - 15:00pm Monday - Thursday with a half day on Friday).

In This Role, You Will
  • Identify & repair compressed air leaks across the Filton site
  • Filter cleaning & replacement
  • Machine/Tank draining and cleaning
  • Forklift truck driving where applicable
  • Assisting maintenance engineers where required
  • Assisting with machine alignments & calibrations
  • Demonstrate improvements to plant reliability and availability
  • Inputting of job records using CMMS
  • Compliance with all risk assessments and company Environment, Health & Safety Procedures relevant to all work activities

This role will require someone physically fit as there will be travel around site required by foot, as well as working on scaffolding and ladders, as well as confined and restrictive spaces.

What You’ll Bring Essential
  • Experience working within an engineering environment
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Proficient in all Microsoft packages
  • Driving Licence
  • Drive & Commitment
  • Self‑motivated, working without direct supervision
Desirable
  • Experience working with CNC machines at a maintenance level
  • Maintenance, mechanical or electrical qualifications
  • Understanding of export control and regulations
  • Previous engineering maintenance experience
