Littleton Public Schools (LPS) is a premier school district located a few miles south of downtown Denver. With approximately 13,000 students, LPS offers education from preschool through grade 12 at ten elementary schools, four middle schools, three high schools, several alternative programs, a central preschool, and two charter schools.
POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for cleaning interior offices, hallways, bathrooms, and common areas and moving furniture to set‑up/take‑down for special events. This position will fill in where needed at multiple buildings throughout the District.
DUTIES- Clean assigned areas by vacuuming, mopping, waxing, buffing, and stripping floors and cleaning walls, windows, and other common areas.
- Perform meeting set‑ups and take‑downs by moving furniture, setting up chairs, preparing rooms, etc.
- Monitor assigned area by walking halls and grounds. Pick up and dispose of trash.
- Dust fixtures in assigned area.
- Clean bathrooms in assigned area by mopping floors; cleaning toilets; and wiping walls, mirrors, and sinks.
- Maintain consistent, regular attendance at work; arrive and leave work at scheduled times; respect time limits on breaks and lunch periods; and follow district procedures for absence reporting.
- Recognize opportunities for improvement and/or implement improved methods within the limits of authority; adapt to changes in responsibilities and work schedule with a positive attitude.
- Promote and follow Board of Education policies, building or department procedures, and any other rules and regulations as may be established by central building or department administration.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Criminal background check required for hire
Typically 3 pm to 11:30 pm. Flexible hours available if needed. Can switch to daytime hours during the summer.
EMPLOYMENT TYPEThis position is a substitute custodial role intended to provide coverage on an as‑needed basis. Individuals in this role will be called upon to fill in during staff absences, peak workload periods, or other situations requiring additional custodial support.
BENEFITS & COMPENSATIONThis position is classified as a temporary/as‑needed role and is not eligible for employee benefits. Individuals in this position will not receive benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, retirement contributions, or other benefit programs typically offered to regular full‑time or part‑time employees. Employment screening includes a charge to the applicant of $39.50 for fingerprinting and background check.
SALARY$19.41 per hour.
WORK YEAR260 No Holiday contract days (Custodial Calendar).
