SummaryWe are seeking a Field Service Technician with a strong electrical background to join our team. This position is responsible for performing electrical diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of pump stations and control systems, as well as overseeing new installations on project sites. This role reports to the Field Service Manager, who will provide technical guidance and support documentation for all service visits.
Duties & Responsibilities- Perform field installation, electrical wiring, and commissioning of packaged pump stations.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and test electrical control panels, alarm systems, and mechanical components.
- Conduct diagnostics and repair of VFDs, relays, motor controls, level sensors, and float switches.
- Identify and report deficiencies in electrical and mechanical systems during scheduled maintenance.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical blueprints.
- Oversee the quality and execution of pump station installations on job sites.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections on sanitary lift stations.
- Open wet wells, clean and test floats for automated operation and alarms.
- Accurately gather and document asset information and service records.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to customers and internal teams in a professional manner.
- Develop new business opportunities by building relationships through field visits and service interactions.
- Collaborate with municipalities, engineers, and construction firms to identify upcoming projects and service needs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, confined space entry procedures, and all company safety practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all company SOPs and documentation requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Confined Space and OSHA 10 certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and reference check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card and clean driving record.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical systems preferably related to pumpsmotors, pump stations and control panels
- Mechanical aptitude, especially with lift stations, piping, and valves.
- Availability to report to our Brook Park, OH facility for training and non-field workdays.
- Willingness to travel for service calls
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and wet well environments.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 25–50+ pounds.
- Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, crawl, and reach in tight or enclosed areas for extended periods.
