The Public of Brookline is seeking translators/interpreters to provide oral and written services for families whose primary language is not English.

We are currently in need of speakers of the following languages:
Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Arabic, Hebrew, Vietnamese, and Russian.

Translators/interpreters will be contacted on an as‑needed basis, with most assignments between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm. Some evenings may be required. Translation services are to be completed outside of contractual work hours. When possible, 1–2 weeks advance notice is given to all translators/interpreters.

Rates: $20.00 per hour for oral interpretation services and $45.00 per hour for written translations.

• Oral and written fluency in English and another of the languages listed above.
• Availability between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, for interpreter assignments. Some evenings may be required.
• Familiarity with the American school system.

• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
