Doula - Labor and Delivery (L&D) - Per-diem - Nights
At New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, doulas provide a supportive, compassionate environment for all phases of ante‑through post‑partum care. With over 5,000 births annually, the experienced and caring team families count on for successful outcomes.
Doulas would be responsible to provide emotional and physical support to the patient/family in all stages of labor, birth and postpartum process. The doula will work closely with the birthing team (midwives, nurses, and physicians) to provide safe, high‑quality and culturally sensitive care to all patients giving birth at NYP/BMH.
This is a per‑diem night shift position, weekends required. Flexible scheduling, inspirational leadership, supportive colleagues and much more are offered.
Preferred Criteria- Experience in Childbirth education, labor support, or breastfeeding education and support.
- Certified Lactation Counselor certification preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Doula certification and training from DONA International.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills.
All roles require on‑site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
Salary Range: $57.75/Hourly.
