All Coastal Health District County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, the Financial Analyst performs professional‑level finance, accounting, and fiscal control functions. Duties include financial planning, documentation, analysis, reporting, and system development. The position may coordinate the design or implementation of financial/accounting/budget‑related systems and reports.

  • Analyze financial information and prepare reports to document or maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit/loss, or other financial activities within an agency
  • Record financial transactions, reconcile accounting records, and prepare reports.
  • Perform and/or oversee financial planning, documentation, analysis, reporting, and system development.
  • Coordinate design or implementation of financial/accounting/budget‑related systems and reports.
  • Produce spreadsheets and financial reports.
  • Query, analyze, and reconcile information from accounting systems.
  • Use Work Day Financials or equivalent accounting systems.
  • Plan, distribute, and monitor work assignments; evaluate performance and provide feedback.
  • Interact with others to influence, motivate, and challenge them.
  • Identify and analyze problems; gather, interpret, and evaluate information to determine accuracy and relevance.
  • Display high ethical standards and commitment to quality customer service.
Qualifications
  • Financial Analyst 1 – Associate degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of job‑related experience in accounting, billing, collection systems, or claims; or one (1) year of professional job‑related experience in general accounting, billing, and collection systems and/or claims.
  • Financial Analyst 2 – Associate degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional job‑related experience in accounting, billing, and collection systems or claims; or two (2) years of professional job‑related experience in general accounting, billing, and collection systems and/or claims; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Financial Analyst 1 (FIP
    060) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiar with the Mitchell and McCormick (M&M) software program.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
