Mechanical Assembler - 1st Shift — Buffalo Grove, IL. Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

Wabtec is hiring a Mechanical Assembler to join our Bus Solutions manufacturing team in Buffalo Grove, IL. This role is ideal for candidates with mechanical aptitude who are eager to grow their careers in a stable, safety-focused manufacturing environment. • Perform mechanical assembly of hydraulic and electromechanical lifts and ramps at various stages, including final assembly.
• Assemble, rework, and inspect components using blueprints, schematics, wiring lists, and written instructions.
• Install and test moving parts such as shafts, levers, and bearings to ensure proper function.
• Operate machines and automatic tools; inspect and test completed assemblies.
• Identify and report quality or process issues to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Support inspection, rework, and other production-related tasks as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• 1-2 years of mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under general supervision.
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and performing repetitive physical tasks.
