Position: IA‑Certified A&P Maintenance Supervisor (General Aviation)
Shape excellence in general aviation maintenance

West Metro Aviation is growing in Buffalo, Minnesota, and we’re looking for an IA‑certified A&P professional who thrives on precision, leadership, and craftsmanship. If “air show‑level” quality speaks to you, you’ll feel at home on our team.

A day in the life

You start with a quick stand‑up, aligning priorities and safety objectives. You review work in progress, exercise your Inspector Authorization to return aircraft to service, and plan the day’s inspections—annuals, progressive checks, and everything in between. You coach technicians through tricky diagnostics, confirm every log entry is crisp and compliant, and update customers and pilots on timelines and findings. Throughout it all, you model the Ideal Team Player values—humble, hungry, and smart—keeping quality, safety, and efficiency in lockstep.

What you’ll take ownership of Conduct and sign off inspections, maintenance, and repairs in line with FAA regulations and company quality procedures.

Use IA privileges to approve aircraft for return to service and oversee annual/progressive inspection programs.

Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance personnel; provide clear technical guidance and enforce best practices.

Verify meticulous documentation, including logbooks and compliance records, for every task completed.

Troubleshoot airframe, power plant, and related systems issues; drive timely corrective actions.

Uphold uncompromising, “air show‑level” standards of workmanship and detail.

Communicate proactively with customers, pilots, and teammates about status, findings, and schedules.

Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Assist with workflow planning, scheduling, and shop throughput initiatives.

What you’ll bring

Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate.

Active Inspector Authorization (IA).4+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in aviation maintenance.

Deep familiarity with FAA regulations, inspection methods, and maintenance documentation.

Proven team leadership, prioritization, and on‑time delivery under deadline.

Strong diagnostics across a range of aircraft systems.

Professional written and verbal communication with customers and internal stakeholders.

Exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team.

Experience maintaining general aviation aircraft.

How we work

Our culture is built on humility, drive, and people smarts. We value teammates who learn fast, share knowledge generously, and hold themselves to the highest safety and quality standards.

Ready to lead with precision in Buffalo, MN? We’d love to hear from you.
