KeyQualifications
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with K-8 populations in diverse classroom settings
- In-depth understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong collaboration skills for working alongside general educators, specialists, and families
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to accommodate a range of learning needs
- Excellent organizational, communication, and classroom management abilities
- Develop, modify, and deliver individualized instruction to students with special needs in compliance with IEP guidelines
- Assess student skills and track progress toward educational and behavioral goals
- Collaborate with instructional teams, parents, and support staff to foster inclusive learning environments
- Document updates, prepare reports, and participate in IEP meetings and staff development sessions
- Create a safe, positive classroom atmosphere that encourages growth, self-advocacy, and respect
- Integrate assistive technologies and differentiated materials as appropriate to facilitate student learning
