About the RoleTo properly operate equipment from a safety, quality and efficient perspective, while maintaining the cleanliness of all equipment.
What You'll Do- Operate 6+ packaging systems (W25-1/2, Cryovac, L24, BIB, 12-up, 6-up fillers).
- Load film carts and rolls correctly; monitor and adjust for continuous operation.
- Select appropriate packaging materials (boxes, labels, date coding).
- Adjust machine settings to maintain target product weights.
- Execute standard changeovers with team members to limit downtime.
- Perform minor mechanical troubleshooting independently.
- Document production data (inspection logs, downtime records, metal detection results).
- Clean, rinse, sanitize equipment using COP (Clean Out of Place) and CIP (Clean In Place) methods.
- Follow all safety protocols including lockout/tagout; identify emergency stops and pinch points.
- Maintain compliance with all food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 months experience in manufacturing or similar setting, or equivalent training.
- Read and follow production documents and safety instructions.
- Complete written logs clearly and accurately.
- Communicate effectively with peers and supervisors.
- Use basic math for weight, volume, and distance (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Apply simple problem-solving under time constraints.
Physical Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, up to 6 days per week, including weekends and holidays.
- Stand/walk 7+ hours per shift.
- Frequently bend, twist, reach overhead, grip tools, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently required to climb up and down ladder.
- Push carts requiring 25 lbs of force for distances up to 100 feet.
- Occasionally kneel, crawl, squat, or climb.
- Work in wet, humid, high-noise environments near moving machinery.
- Use cleaning chemicals and perform tasks involving segmental or whole-body vibration.
- Wear required PPE: hair net, bump cap, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, smock/apron.
- Packaging machines and conveyors.
- Manual pallet jacks.
- HMI (Human Machine Interface) software.
- Hand tools, safety knives, lockout devices.
- Cleaning equipment and chemicals.
