We are seeking a hands on, detail-oriented and organized Accounting Coordinator to join our team at Progressive Housing Society. This role is responsible for completing full cycle accounting activities, and ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions. This is an exempt position.
Key Responsibilities- Process high volumes of invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Perform invoice coding, matching, and data entry for inventory and freight transactions
- Coordinate bi-weekly payment runs and obtain necessary approvals
- Communicate with vendors, including French-speaking contacts, to resolve inquiries
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in invoices and payments
- Reconcile customer payments and deposits with invoices
- Manage billing processes and distribute invoices
- Conduct account reconciliations and support AR clean-up activities
- Assist with full-cycle accounting functions, including AP, AR, and payroll
- Support post-acquisition accounting activities such as reconciliations and system integration
- Maintain accurate financial records using systems such as SAGE 300 and Com Vida
- Collaborate with internal team
- Must have Bachelor’s degree in business (Accounting/Finance)
or Diploma in Accounting/Finance Management with relevant experience - Minimum 5 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or full-cycle bookkeeping
- Must have At least 1 year of hands-on experience with SAGE 300
- Experience with Com Vida is an asset
- Experience in not-for-profit sectors is considered an asset
- Experience working in a unionized environment considered an asset
- Successful completion of a criminal record check
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume transactions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work independently and prioritize tasks under tight deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and reconciliation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting/data entry tools
- Knowledge of full-cycle bookkeeping, including AP, AR, and payroll functions.
