Burnaby Technician

Position: Burnaby Housing Technician - Full-Time
Become a Housing Technician at Metro Vancouver Housing, focusing on building maintenance and project oversight. This full-time role requires expertise in managing capital repair projects across various housing sites.

The technician plays a crucial role in the Regional Planning & Housing Services Department by overseeing extensive building repairs and improvements. Your responsibilities will include inspecting mechanical systems and ensuring projects meet regulatory standards and specifications. A solid understanding of construction practices and the BC Building Code is vital.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform site inspections and recommend improvements

• Develop and manage scopes of work for capital projects

• Coordinate project execution with contractors and staff

• Maintain accurate documentation of project progress

• Supervise and support maintenance activities as needed

Requirements:

• Grade 12 plus relevant diploma in Engineering

• Six years of hands-on experience in construction

• Proficient knowledge of building codes and construction techniques

• Strong communication skills for contractor interactions

• Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License
