Join the Maternity team at Royal Columbian Hospital as a part-time Registered Nurse specializing in Lactation Services in New Westminster, B.C. Promote breastfeeding and support new mothers with expert care.
This role emphasizes the importance of assisting postpartum women and expectant mothers through education and practical support in breastfeeding. You will assess challenges, recommend care plans, and provide essential nursing interventions. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team further enhances the support network available to new families.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide education and assistance for breastfeeding mothers
• Assess and resolve breastfeeding difficulties effectively
• Initiate and sustain lactation for new mothers
• Maintain accurate patient records and track outcomes
• Collaborate with nursing staff and health professionals
Requirements:
• Current Registered Nurse registration with BCCNM
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
• Certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant
• Two years' experience in neonatal or perinatal care
• Strong communication and organizational skills
