Salary The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42 - $59.52 / hour
Job Summary Are you a Nurse with demonstrated experience in cardiac intervention and patient care? Join our dedicated team at Royal Columbian Hospital’s Cardiac Surgery Triage Office where we focus on delivering exceptional cardiac health services. This position involves providing direct patient care in an outpatient setting for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, device implantation, or trans‑esophageal echocardiograms. Care includes preparation, recovery, and discharge, and all associated nursing assessments, interventions, and education.
Responsibilities Perform direct patient case management: pre‑admission screening, interviews, review of diagnostics, and nursing assessment. Work with physicians to optimize clinical conditions and schedule required tests.
Provide full nursing review of diagnostic results and report abnormalities to physicians.
Deliver patient and family education using health literacy principles, in person or virtually.
Serve as point of contact, offering ongoing telephone support to wait‑list patients and their families.
Participate in daily patient reviews and triage, ensuring procedure slots reflect demand, acuity, and priority.
Attend Heart Team rounds and communicate findings on high‑risk patients.
Communicate patients’ condition changes to cardiac and referring physicians, and coordinate alternative options to meet recommended wait‑time guidelines.
Track patients on the wait‑list, monitor wait times and conditions, and conduct proactive assessments.
Assist with administrative duties: data entry and management in Fraser Health and Cardiac Services BC databases.
Support quality improvement projects and quality‑indicator tracking to enhance program effectiveness.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications Graduation from a recognized nursing program.
Registered Nurse registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Two (2) years recent related clinical experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Ability to conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment and deliver appropriate nursing care.
