Operations Manager, Construction Manager/ Foreman
Asphalt Paving Superintendent oversees all field operations for paving projects, managing crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to ensure jobs are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Key responsibilities include planning daily schedules, ensuring quality control/compliance with specifications, directing foremen, and managing safety protocols (OSHA).
Responsibilities and Duties- Project Oversight: Plans and directs daily paving operations (material quantities, crew schedules, equipment placement) for multiple jobsites.
- Crew Management: Supervises foremen and crew members, providing leadership, training, and mentoring to maximize efficiency.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforces company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) plans.
- Quality Control: Monitors asphalt paving techniques, compaction, grade, and slope to meet project specs.
- Coordination: Liaises with project managers, clients, engineers, plant operators, and truck dispatchers.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in heavy highway/asphalt construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of asphalt paving materials, methods, and paving equipment.
- Leadership: Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills to manage large teams.

Skills:
Ability to read project plans, specifications, and use scheduling software. - Certification/Licensing: Valid Driver's License and DOT Certifications.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions, including extreme temperatures.
- Flexibility to work night/weekend shifts (often required in paving).
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a degree in Construction Management is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations.
Salary based on experience.
This role operates in both office and active construction site environments. Candidate must be able to perform site walks, attend field meetings, and ensure on‑site safety and compliance.
