Help Desk Technician | Cadillac, MI

Salary Range: $47,000 - $72,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Cadillac seeking Help Desk Technicians who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first-level contact and problem resolution for manufacturing software and hardware issues.
  • Document, track, and monitor help desk requests using a ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution for production systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to specialized manufacturing equipment and their interconnected systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and support for shop-floor workstations, printers, and handheld devices.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and IT specialists to escalate and resolve complex technical problems affecting production.
  • Assist with the deployment and configuration of new hardware and software for manufacturing operations.
Recommended Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a help desk or IT support role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware (e.g., desktops, laptops, printers, shop floor devices) and software (e.g., Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems).
  • Familiarity with network fundamentals (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN) and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear technical assistance to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience with SCADA systems or other manufacturing control systems.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle EBS).
  • Certification in ITIL, CompTIA A+, or similar relevant industry certifications.
  • Basic understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN) within an industrial setting.
  • Prior experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.
