Become a Casual Education Assistant at the Calgary Board of Education, offering vital support to students with special needs for the school year. Engage with students and help promote their learning and growth.
This position entails working two full days or four half days weekly, providing flexibility. You'll assist in educational instruction and personal care while participating in the development of Individual Program Plans. If you possess an educational background and a passion for special education, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students in their educational activities
• Participate in the creation and revision of IPPs
• Ensure the safety and dignity of students in care
• Foster collegial relationships with educational teams
• Assist with cleaning and organizing materials in the classroom
Requirements:
• Completed vocational or post-secondary certificate in childcare
• Relevant education courses must be at least ten complete
• CPR and Standard First Aid certifications required
• Reliable approach to responding to behavioral challenges
• Capable of lifting heavy weights while working in various scenarios
