Position: Race Day Control Specialist
Woodbine Entertainment Group, Canada’s largest professional horse racing operator, is seeking a dedicated individual to oversee stop betting and officialling of races across Ontario, British Columbia, and Japan. The role ensures accurate race results, manages wagering data, and supports the racing and wagering team.
Responsibilities   Oversee stop betting and officialling of races at all Ontario, BC, and Japan tracks.
Create and manage all racing information for hosted tracks and simulcasts.
Generate and distribute handle reports for Ontario tracks and Home Market wagering.
Perform administrative duties such as issuing cheques and triaging customer calls to appropriate channels.
Ensure strict compliance with Canadian Pari‑Mutuel Agency, Ontario Racing Commission rules, and Woodbine operating policies relating to stop betting and race officialling.
Communicate with 3rd‑party vendors (e.g., ATG Sweden, Tab Corp Australia) to notify post times and official results.
Act as the first point of contact for public, internal, and vendor inquiries, escalated to management when necessary.
Schedule & Compensation  Shift work includes late‑night shifts up to 2:30‑3:30AM and optional morning shifts starting  rate:  $23 per hour.
Qualifications   Basic knowledge of AGCO, ORC, and WEG rules and regulations.
Basic knowledge of pari‑mutuel wagering systems.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a pari‑mutuel wagering environment or a similar high‑paced setting.
Post‑secondary education or equivalent experience.
Strong organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently.
Ability to think boldly, adapt, and multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.
