Electromechanical Assembler

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling electromechanical components using kitted parts and detailed process control documents that combine photos and written instructions. You will assemble magnetic actuators, perform soldering work to IPC standards on cables and printed circuit boards, and use a variety of hand tools and measuring instruments. The position requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to work independently at your own station while contributing to a collaborative production team.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble electromechanical components, including magnetic actuators, using kitted parts and detailed process control documents that combine photos and written build procedures.
  • Perform soldering on cables, printed circuit boards, and other electronic components in accordance with IPC standards.
  • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers and torque wrenches to complete mechanical assembly tasks accurately and safely.
  • Work with small parts and delicate components, maintaining a high level of precision and attention to detail throughout the assembly process.
  • Read and interpret schematics, process control documents, and other technical documentation to ensure correct assembly and configuration.
  • Operate and read measuring instruments such as LCR meters, micrometers, digital volt meters (DVMs), and calipers to verify component values and dimensions.
  • Perform basic electrical assembly and testing tasks, with the opportunity to learn and develop electrical testing skills from scratch.
  • Document work clearly and accurately, including recording data in Microsoft Excel and maintaining traceability of components and assemblies.
  • Participate in daily escalation meetings to discuss safety, protocols, and any production challenges, and proactively raise issues or suggestions.
  • Collaborate with a production team of approximately 11 people while working independently at your own station, contributing positively to team morale and energy.
  • Follow established safety procedures and guidelines, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement by providing feedback on processes and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
Essential Skills
  • At least 3 years of electrical assembly experience.
  • At least 1 year of hands‑on soldering experience.
  • Proficiency in soldering to IPC standards for cables and printed circuit boards.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and process control documents.
  • Experience with printed circuit board assembly and general electrical assembly.
  • Ability to use LCR meters, micrometers, digital volt meters (DVMs), and calipers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills for data entry.
  • Ability to document work clearly and accurately, including production and test data.
  • Comfort using hand tools such as screwdrivers, torque wrenches, and other mechanical assembly tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for working with small parts.
  • Effective verbal communication skills and willingness to speak up in team meetings.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining focus, quality, and consistency.

Skills & Qualifications
  • IPC certification or equivalent training in IPC standards.
  • Experience with surface‑mount technology (SMT) assembly.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting electrical or electromechanical assemblies.
  • Experience with Excel macros or advanced Excel functions.
  • Exposure to electrical testing, with willingness to learn and develop testing skills from the ground up.
  • Comfort working in a structured production environment with process control documents.
  • Enthusiastic, positive attitude with the ability to bring energy and engagement to a repetitive role.
