Description
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a driven and self-motivated professional to join Raylec Power (Alberta) LP as our  Safety Advisor . In this key leadership role, you will lead and support the organization’s safety program, providing guidance to operations teams and ensuring compliance with all safety, regulatory, and contract requirements related to electrical repair and maintenance operations.

This is a full-time salaried position based in Rocky View County, Alberta, reporting directly to the Corporate HSQE Manager.

We are seeking a proactive, hands‑on safety professional who brings strong interpersonal skills, technical expertise, and a demonstrated ability to lead effectively.

Raylec Power (Alberta) LP delivers roadway lighting and traffic signal installation as well as specialized electrical repair & maintenance services.

The successful candidate shall have the following qualifications:

National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) and/or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP). A Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) designation is an asset

COR or ISO audit training (preferred)

Minimum two (2) years of experience in electrical maintenance, construction, or a closely related industry in a professional safety role

Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (asset)

Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract

Strong knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal safety requirements

Solid understanding of OH&S legislation and related regulations, including the Alberta Workers’ Compensation Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workers’ Compensation Board requirements, Traffic Safety Act, and other relevant legislation and contract obligations

Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal partners, senior leadership, and regulatory bodies

Demonstrated skill in managing difficult situations with tact, professionalism, and sound judgment

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience delivering training programs

Experience coordinating and serving on workplace health and safety committees

Experience conducting internal audits in accordance with ISO 45001 (preferred)

Experience developing safety procedures, safe work practices, exposure control plans, and hazard assessments

Experience conducting workplace incident investigations

Experience coordinating return‑to‑work programs and knowledge of accommodation requirements

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, and problem‑solving abilities

Ability to influence and lead others at various levels of the organization

Strong learning agility and attention to detail

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and the ability to learn new software programs

Willingness and ability to travel regularly to worksites throughout Alberta

Willingness and ability to work flexible hours as needed

Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Review, update, and create hazard assessments, including those required for new activities and projects

Write and revise Safe Job Procedures, Safe Work Practices, and Exposure Control Plans

Oversee compliance with OH&S regulations, including safety audits, inspections, and verification of regulatory requirements

Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and work with operations to implement corrective actions

Track, analyze, and report safety performance metrics and trends

Ensure completion of daily hazard assessments, toolbox meetings, and required inspections

Coordinate and review subcontractor safety documentation
