Provides financial and investment planning and advice to deliver a solution in the best interests of the customer. Determines client needs and provides solutions through the sales of managed products and services such as mutual funds, retirement savings plans, and similar products. Provides other solutions indirectly through referrals to business partners.

Responsibilities
  • Take a lead in proactively engaging with new and existing customers and prospects by providing needs‑based assessments to grow loyalty and identify immediate/future opportunities.
  • Implement business development strategies to acquire new business (outbound calling campaigns and cultivating branch referrals).
  • Engage customers to grow the bank’s business by reaching out, generating appointments, and building new relationships within the community.
  • Identify opportunities during customer conversations to generate referrals for personal and commercial banking products.
  • Support the achievement of sales and performance targets.
  • Provide sales and service support for other members of the team to complete transactions and support the achievement of business results.
  • Respond to customer investment requests to fulfill investment product needs aligned with the customer’s goals and refer the customer to partners where appropriate.
  • Execute work to deliver timely, accurate, and effective service.
  • Learn the role of the Financial Planner and complete the associated accreditation requirements to develop into a Financial Planner role, ideally within 12–24 months.
  • Introduce clients to investment strategies and work with clients to set goals and make real financial progress using appropriate guidance tools.
  • Probe to understand customer personal investment and banking needs and integrate marketing promotions and programs into customer conversations to provide strategic advice.
  • Look for ways to contribute to the ongoing improvement of overall business results and customer experience delivered.
  • Maintain current knowledge of personal investment products, practices, and trends and integrate into customer conversations.
  • May work at multiple branches and through various channels based on market needs to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Protect the bank’s assets and comply with all regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements.
  • Complete complex and diverse tasks within given rules and limits, including handling escalations from other employees.
  • Analyze issues and determine next steps.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
  • Take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying the Risk Management Framework in the execution of your role.
Qualifications
  • Typically 2–3 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working towards the regulatory or governing body licensing and registration requirements of a Financial Planner in the province or territory of employment.
  • Good working knowledge of the financial industry.
  • Specialized knowledge.

  • Good collaboration and team skills.

    Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Salary and Benefits

Salary: $38,500.00 – $71,000.00 per year, paid as a salaried position. The final compensation may include performance incentives, discretionary bonuses, and additional perks such as health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
