Empower lives as a Women’s Support Partner at YW Calgary, providing overnight shelter support to women and children affected by domestic violence. Your expertise in trauma-informed care will play a vital role.
Working overnight from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., you'll collaborate closely with the shelter team to deliver empowering services. Your knowledge of intake processes, crisis intervention, and community resource navigation will ensure residents receive timely assistance and support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide trauma-informed support to residents in crisis
• Conduct intake and manage risk assessments
• Respond to all calls on the crisis line
• Assist with various resident needs and concerns
• Ensure the shelter's safety and confidentiality
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
• Understanding of anti-oppression and inclusion principles
• Experience in a crisis shelter or with domestic violence survivors
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Required certifications within 6 months of hiring
