Plans and maintains measurement equipment calibration through routinely testing equipment and instruments to check that their readings and output meet expected results. Maintains records of tests including internal and externally calibrated equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Installs new or repaired testing equipment into production or quality environments.
- Routine testing, including calibration and monitoring of equipment.
- Analysis and interpretation of testing results.
- Identifies potential quality escapes related to calibration issue to management.
- Troubleshooting of unacceptable inspection equipment.
- Ordering of proper tools and components to repair, replace or implement inspection tools at POU in accordance with overall Quality Management System.
- Compile reports for facility management or other purposes.
- Maintain an extremely organized workflow and calibration laboratory.
- Able to read and understand complex configurations on Engineering Print.
- SME in Calibration principles and techniques.
- Determines length of calibration cycle based on statistical analysis of testing per Quality Management System.
- Conducting and analyzing MSA studies (Type I Bias and Gage R&R studies)
- Releasing (measurement) tools and maintaining inventory of tools to Ops by either individual tools or job boxes required for various products.
- Implements new techniques, technologies or other means of achieving inspections in an overall effort of continuous improvement that pass valid MSA studies.
- Regularly reports out of status of calibration system.
- Creates or updates Quality Work Instruction or Procedures as required to maintain Quality Management System.
- Joins or leads product/process improvement projects and the discretion of the Quality Manager.
- Practices, and promotes a culture of Safety first in all aspects of work. Takes ownership to stop any unsafe conditions in any workplace.
- Other Duties as assigned.
- Proficient in MS Office, Project, Excel and computer use
- Technical capacity and understanding of computer databases and record management.

This job mainly operates in an office setting, however, working in the Foundry/Shop may also be necessary. Routine use of standard office equipment such as phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position requires prolonged computer use. Employee is exposed to Foundry atmospheric conditions such as fumes or airborne particles, noise, extreme weather, vibration, and moving mechanical parts. Note, personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when entering the plant to include ear plugs, safety glasses, and steel toe boots.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORKThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
TRAVELLittle to no travel is expected for this position.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- High School diploma or equivalent *
- 5+ years’ experience in related field.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures with an aluminum casting and machining field.
* Related experience and/or Degrees may be considered in lieu of required education and experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- 10+ years of related experience
